Live in front of Central Park? Former Lincoln Correctional Facility to Be Transformed into Affordable Housing Building

The former Lincoln Correctional Center in Manhattan will be transformed to create an apartment complex affordable housing, New York authorities announced yesterday.

This 10,000 square meter space is a former prison located in front of Central Park in Manhattan.

The space will be rebuilt and will have 105 affordable housing apartments and community spaces with an investment of 90 million dollars.

The spaces will be for people who earn between 80 and 100 percent of the area median income (AMI), that is, about $29,670 a year and would require only a 5 percent down payment to purchaseoffering an invaluable opportunity to generate wealth through property.

The ground floor will become a community center with artistic and cultural activitiescommented the governor, Kathy Hochul.

The Lincoln Correctional Center closed in 2019 as part of the state’s initiative to rebuild underutilized correctional institutions.
