The researcher who advised Boris Johnson to lock the country has left. He has broken his own rules of social distancing, The Daily Telegraph reports.

51-year-old Neil Ferguson received two visits from his girlfriend Antonia Staats during the lockdown. Staats, a married woman, traveled across London for those visits.

“I accept that I made a mistake and acted wrongly,” he said in a statement.

On the advice of Ferguson, among others, the British government opted for a partial lockdown. England is severely affected by the corona virus. In the country, 29,502 people have died of the virus, making England the country with the most corona deaths after the United States.
