The Klaipėda District Tourism Information Center invites you to the St. LITHUANIA GOES to the opening hike of the Jacob’s Way season, which will take place on April 27!
St. Jacob’s Way – it is a pilgrimage, international, cognitive, cultural road stretching through Lithuania, which connects Lithuania with the common St. The network of the Way of James leads to Santiago de Compostela (Spanish: Santiago de Compostela), where the Apostle James is believed to be buried.
With St. In 2021, St. James’s Way in Lithuania also connects. created and marked St. Jacob’s Way in Western Lithuania. This one cultural, cognitive, pilgrimage St. Jacob’s road stretches through 10 municipalities of Western Lithuania: Telšiai district, Plungė district, Kretinga district, Palanga city, Klaipėda district. Klaipėda city, Šilutė district, Šilalė district, Tauragė district. and Jurbarka district. The road is marked with a special St. The Jacob’s Way sign is a yellow shell on a blue background. The entire route stretches for about 460 km. It consists of 19 sections of different lengths.
Klaipėda District Tourism Information Center on April 27. invites you to join the St. LITHUANIA IS GOING for the season opening hike of St. James’s Way, and together to cover the section of the chosen route in the Klaipėda region: Nemirseta–Giruliai. This hike is a great opportunity to get to know St. Jacob’s Way, explore unique cultural heritage and immerse yourself in amazing history.
April 27 10:00 a.m. registered participants are invited to come to “Zuvėdras aikštelė” in Giruliai, where the official opening of the route Nemirseta-Giruliai will take place. After the bus takes you to the starting point of the hike – Nemirseta, the participants will be invited to a pilgrimage on foot from Nemirseta to Girulii (13 km) marked St. Jacob’s way. The participants of the event will be served lunch in the courtyard of the Seaside Regional Park visitor center.
