JawaPos.com – The Ministry increases the number of basic immunizations for children in Indonesia. From 11 types to 14. Routine immunization is a government program which means that people don’t have to spend money to get the vaccine or it’s free, including the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine.
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said immunization was the most appropriate and inexpensive way to prevent maternal and child mortality. According to him, vaccination is one of the health interventions that is cheaper and more effective than intervention when someone has been admitted to hospital.
“Immunization or vaccination is a cost-effective upstream health intervention method to reduce morbidity, disability and death from diseases that can be prevented by immunization,” he said at a press conference for World Immunization Week at the Ministry of Health, recently.
