Elke started in 2005 as a radio presenter at Joe, then 4fm, and returned to the station in 2011 after a short switch to Qmusic. Recently she presented ‘Joe Funk & Disco Fever’ on Friday evenings. She will do that for the last time next Friday.

Van Mello cites her acting as the reason for stopping her career with Joe. For example, the presenter plays an important role in ‘Lisa’, which will receive a second season in September. “In recent years, in addition to my radio work, I also had great opportunities as an actress and voice-over,” she says. “I am grateful that I have always been allowed to and have been able to combine this with everything I did at radio. But I’ve been feeling for a while that weekend work is starting to weigh on me. Even though I throw the best radio parties with ‘Joe Funk & Disco Fever’, or stand by to replace colleagues on weekends and during school holidays, I feel I long for more time with my husband Jan, dog Charlie, family and friends. It was a difficult decision. Radio will always be my first and greatest love. I want to thank Joe, Qmusic and all listeners for the past sixteen years.”
