Will Lionel Messi join Inter Miami in MLS next year? According to his adviser, there is nothing in the speculation.
WHAT HAPPENED? Marcelo Méndez, one of superstar Lionel Messi’s advisers, has denied a report that the Paris Saint-Germain forward is in advanced talks with Inter Miami over a move to the MLS.
WHAT WAS SAID? “It’s wrong,” Méndez stressed on American television Cnn and stated: “There are no negotiations for Lionel to move to Inter Miami next season.”
WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? To die Times had reported that Messi is said to be close to a deal with Miami for a transfer in summer 2023. Club owner David Beckham wants to make the 35-year-old Argentine the highest-paid player in MLS history.

WHAT’S NEXT? Messi, who is currently playing in the World Cup in Qatar with Argentina, is under contract with PSG until the end of June 2023. He could theoretically leave the French champions on a free transfer next summer, although Paris are hoping still in an extension and Messi’s contract also includes an option for another year at PSG.
A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS: After Messi, who joined PSG from Barcelona in 2021, often struggled in his first season with the French side, things have been better so far this season. The seven-time world footballer counts twelve goals and 14 assists in 19 appearances.
