entertainment">In a statement on social media, she says she is happy to finally be able to put the case behind her. “I look forward to the next chapter of my life with friends and family,” she writes. “I am grateful for all the support I have received from everyone.” Evangelista claimed $50 million in damages and claimed she was disfigured by Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc’s CoolSculpting lawsuit. She also believed the treatment did the opposite of what it promised and left her “unrecognizable.” Details of the settlement are unknown.

entertainment">Evangelista revealed last year that she developed paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) after a CoolSculpting treatment in 2016. Several months after the fat cell freeze treatment, she began to see bulges on her chin, thighs and around her breasts. That is a rare, but known side effect of this surgery. She then needed two additional surgeries, but they also did not yield the hoped-for results. “It has put me in a cycle of deep depression, deep sadness and self-loathing,” she wrote on Instagram in September 2021. “In the process, I became a hermit.”
