For three decades, Linda (61) from Mechelen did not build up a statutory pension as a housewife. After her divorce, she still had to work. “But according to the latest data, I will barely receive 650 euros in pension. My rent alone costs almost that much”, she sighs. We asked Ewald Pironet, financial journalist at Knack, to watch Linda’s story and to list the pension rights of a housewife or husband after a divorce.
