Thanks to all these advances, NASA scientist Michelle Thaller, believes that there is life beyond Earth. The scientist with a doctor’s degree was present at a space exhibition in New York.

“I think (there is other life) in our solar system. We are almost close to it, although not yet 100 percent,” continued Michelle Thaller.
Thaller explained why. Earth’s neighboring planet, Planet Mars used to be like earth. It’s just that at this time the red planet has no magnetic field and no greenhouse gases. So, it doesn’t have a liquid state, which means it can’t support life.
However, it is believed that Mars was more than 4 billion years ago in liquid form, which means the temperature is warmer. NASA analyzed the red planet with the Curiosity rover and there they found data about amino acids on Mars.

“Finding certain amino acids on Mars would be considered a potential sign of past Martian life. These amino acids are widely used by life on land as building blocks for protein,” the NASA scientist wrote as quoted from his website’s blog.
Protein is an essential element for life, because it is used to produce enzymes that speed up or regulate chemical reactions and to form structures.
