AARHUS – The Indonesian badminton team successfully beat Denmark in the semifinals Thomas Cup 2020 with a score of 3-1. This result brought Indonesia to advance to the final round for the 20th time in the Thomas Cup.
As is known, Indonesia achieved a sweet result against Denmark at Ceres Arena, Aarush, Denmark, Saturday, October 17, 2021. Three points for Indonesia were presented by Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Jonatan Christie, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. This result brought Indonesia back into the 2020 Thomas Cup final.
Since it was first held in 1949 until 1982, the Thomas Cup event is known to take place every three years. During that period, Indonesia wrote an extraordinary history by reaching the final nine times and collecting seven titles.
The first time Indonesia reached the Thomas Cup final was in 1958. At that time, the Red and White team emerged as champions after defeating their arch-rivals, Malaysia.
