Lexus’ first fully electric model ‘UX 300e’ arrives in Latvia

“UX 300e” is the latest “Lexusmember of the UX compact crossover family, launched by the carmaker in early 2019. Since then, the UX has quickly become the best-selling Lexus in Europe. To date, more than 30,000 cars have been sold, accounting for a record 4.3% of the Lexus segment. In developing the new UX 300e, Lexus engineers retained the intact design and performance of the UX crossover and focused on reaping the performance benefits of a battery electric vehicle (BEV).

The UX 300e takes advantage of Lexus’ 15-year leadership in electrification. With more than 1.8 million Lexus electrified hybrids worldwide, 450,000 of which are sold in Europe, the UX 300e’s engineering team was able to “UX 300e is something Lexus has worked on very patiently, because every part has to meet the high quality that people expect from the brand,” says Lexus Baltic manager Raigo Kaseorgs.

The UX 300e’s all-new BEV drive includes a 204 hp (150 kW) electric motor-generator that drives traction to the front wheels. From speed to 100 km / h, it accelerates in 7.5 seconds and reaches a maximum of 160 km / h. When fully charged, the battery can travel up to 300 km.

Like the rest of the UX family, the UX 300e uses Lexus’ new Global Architecture platform, the Compact (GA-C). This lightweight yet rigid design, combined with the car’s low center of gravity and sophisticated suspension adjustment, improves steering control, maneuverability and driving comfort.

Lexus provides a 10-year warranty on the battery of this electric car. The price of the car in Latvia is from 49,900 euros.
