The creation of an Algerian-Nigerian Business Council to strengthen the economic relations of the two countries on the basis of the win-win principle and thus contribute to African development was at the center of discussions between the Director General of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce. and industry (Caci), Wahiba Bahloul and an official delegation from Nigeria, said a statement from Caci on Saturday.
In this context of development and strengthening of economic and trade relations between Algeria and Nigeria, Wahiba Bahloul received, on Saturday, at the headquarters of Caci, in the company of the presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the wilayas of Bechar and Médéa, an official delegation from the State of Nigeria. This delegation, made up of representatives of official bodies and economic sectors of Nigeria, was led by Professor Funmi Para-Mallam, with whom “the question of the creation of an Algerian-Nigerian Business Council was raised”, says the same source.
This Council “constitutes one of the tools of economic diplomacy for the purpose of strengthening economic relations and exchanges within the framework of the win-win principle,” the statement added.
Emphasis was also placed on the imperative to develop bilateral relations through economic and commercial enterprises, to exploit the opportunities for the development of non-hydrocarbon exports as well as direct investments, taking into account the potentialities allowing to the two countries to “work together within the framework of the” African Continental Free Trade Area – Zlecaf “. The two parties agreed to work for the development of strong and fruitful ties so as to erect their countries as “the locomotive of the African continent”, in the economic, commercial and entrepreneurial fields, in coordination with the Chambers of Commerce and the Council of business, while resolutely advancing on the path of progress and development of the continent.
This meeting is part of the meetings held by the Nigerian delegation with government authorities and economic enterprises, with the aim of examining the future of bilateral relations, in particular the promotion of economic and trade exchanges.
