Bayer Leverkusen continued its downward trend in the German Bundesliga, but just avoided another defeat. The Werkself made it 1-1 (0-1) at FC Augsburg on Sunday, matchday 22, with a goal just before the final whistle.
Edmond Tapsoba equalized in the fifth minute of added time. Florian Niederlechner had already taken the lead in the fifth minute for Augsburg, who missed their first win after three defeats last.
For Leverkusen, fifth in the table, the gap to a Champions League place is now five points. While Michael Gregoritsch was on the bench at Augsburg, Aleksandar Dragovic was only a reserve player at Leverkusen. Julian Baumgartlinger is still injured.
