A Strasbourg, small traders and artisans stunned by electricity bills
decided to form a group “The Disconnected”. They are around 200 in Alsace and elsewhere. They are asking the Minister of the Economy to sign a decree to impose a maximum tariff.
Invoices higher than turnover
Some are in a very difficult situation. Mickaël Wagner, 25, runs a bakery in Illkirch “I was sent an invoice of 8,400 euros, it is no longer possible because I make 8,000 euros in sales per month at the store. I have a wife, a one-year-old child. I haven’t paid myself since December, I don’t earn a penny“. The young baker was ready to let go “until I met the collective “Les Disjonctés”, since then they have accompanied me and I have regained hope to achieve my dream“, he tells France Bleu Alsace.
The collective appeals directly to the government
In February, Minister Bruno Lemaire assured that energy suppliers agreed to a rate of 280 euros per mega-watt/hour. According to the collective, the energy suppliers have not respected their promise. “The energy suppliers lied to Bruno Lemaire, they did not apply this rate of 280 euros per MW/hour against 140 euros before the crisis. The only solution is for the minister to issue a decree as at the time of the covid crisis. There is an economic emergency, we are in dire straits“, explains Daniel Aaron the co-creator of the collective.
