The head of the Cigugur Health Center, Nana Sutisna, said that leptospirosis is a infectious disease through mouse urine. One of them is through puddles or floods.

“As an effort to prevent this, during the rainy and flood seasons like now, we will engage in intense socialization. The goal is obviously for people to understand how to prevent it, ”Nana said on Thursday (10/27/2022).

He explained that the mode of transmission is that leptospirosis enters the human body through mucous membranes, eyes, nose, skin abrasions / wounds, and through food.

The signs and symptoms of people with leptospirosis are usually chills, cough, diarrhea and sudden headache. Later, high fever, body aches, loss of appetite, red or sore eyes.

“So if anyone experiences symptoms like this, see a doctor right away,” he explained.

Nana also said the way to prevent it would be to live a healthy life. Maintain personal and environmental hygiene.
