Leo Pföderl’s Hat Trick Leads Berlin to Victory in swb Energy Cup

Thanks to a hat trick from Leo Pföderl, the Eisbären Berlin won the swb Energy Cup in Bremerhaven on Saturday. In the final, the club from the PENNY DEL clearly won 5-1 against Valerenga Oslo from Norway. With the same result, hosts Fischtown Pinguins won the game for third place against Wolfsburg. Miha Verlic got on the scoresheet twice for Bremerhaven.

Nuremberg also completed its preparation with a tournament victory. The Ice Tigers beat Nitra from Slovakia 6-2 and secured first place at the Energie Steiermark Trophy in Graz. Elis Hede scored twice and Charlie Gerard prepared three goals.

After a penalty shootout, Straubing had to admit defeat 2:3 in Linz. Marcel Müller and Marcel Brandt scored the Tigers’ goals. DEL2 Club Bietigheim, on the other hand, won an international comparison. With 5:4, the Steelers retained the upper hand against the Swiss second division team Winterthur. Cole MacDonald and Dominik Lascheit turned the game around with a double strike in the final third.

Three southern league teams were also in action on Saturday. Lukas Miculka scored twice in Deggendorf’s 4-1 win against EC Kitzbühel from the Alps Hockey League. Riessersee, on the other hand, had to admit defeat against the Austrian second division team Zell am See with 4:5. Quirin Bader scored two goals for the old champions. Lindau won 2-1 at Swiss third division club Arosa in extra time thanks to a goal from Adrian Carciola.
