Lena Hallengren (S) about Jamal El-Haj becoming a political savage in the Riksdag: “Unacceptable”

During a press conference on Friday, the Social Democrats called on Riksdag member Jamal El-Haj to leave the party and his seat in Riksdag. The party has lost confidence after the MP after he repeatedly put his own interests ahead of the party’s. “Unacceptable behavior,” says Lena Hallengren (S) to TT.

“Everyone can make bad decisions, but not on repeated occasions,” said Social Democrats party leader Magdalena Andersson to TT on Saturday. Today, Monday, Jamal El-Haj announced that he is leaving the party but that he is keeping his Riksdag seat, which Aftonbladet was the first to report on.

Leaving the party

“In the battle between truth and lies there is a critical point when the lie is at its greatest and the truth reaches its ultimate test. With these words, I want to inform you that I am leaving the Social Democrats,” writes Jamal El-Haj in the letter according to SVT and continues:

“I will keep my seat in the Riksdag. It would not be right towards our voters and towards Swedish democracy to leave my mission”, writes El-Haj and notes that he no longer has the party’s trust and that the media drive has become too great.

Puts own interests before the party’s

Lena Hallengren, from Kalmar, is the Social Democrats’ group leader in the Riksdag.
