Royal Antwerp FC was the first of all clubs in First Division A to leave on a summer internship. On Saturday, Ivan Leko’s troops arrived in Harsewinkel-Marienfeld, where they will be staying until next Saturday. It is obvious that a new wind is blowing in the player group.
Not only the core underwent a thorough facelift, with the departure of roaring names like Sinan Bolat, Dino Arslanagic or Steven Defour and incoming transfers à la Jean Butez and Birger Verstraete. The technical staff is also completely new. It was predictable that Leko (to say the least) leaves a different method than predecessor Laszlo Bölöni.
