Leipzig (dpa) – RB Leipzig can continue to hope for the successful defense of the DFB Cup title. Coach Marco Rose’s team beat Hamburger SV second division football team 4-0 (2-0) and again passed the round of 16.
Denmark’s Yussuf Poulsen scored twice in front of 44,787 spectators (33rd minute / 36th). Mohamed Simakan (69th) and Benjamin Henrichs (82nd) increase in the second half for the favorite. Second division club 1. FC Nürnberg fought 1-0 (0-0) against SV Waldhof Mannheim. An own goal by Mannheim’s Gerrit Gohlke allowed the team of the new club manager Markus Weinzierl to win in front of 17,757 spectators.
