Leica Camera AG and Insta360 announced today their partnership that brings real innovations and the latest image quality for action cameras and 360-degree cameras. The cooperation kicked off with the market launch of the Insta360 ONE R, an adaptive action camera that, with an interchangeable camera module, combines the «creative freedom of 360-degree shots with the precision and resolution of traditional shots of a single lens», according to Leica in her press release.
Leica and Insta360 have jointly developed the Insta360 ONE R 1-Inch Edition, which features a 1-inch sensor with 5.3 K. The camera is said to enable an image quality and dynamic range not previously achieved with Actioncams and also be equipped with the FlowState stabilization of Insta360. The 5.3 K wide-angle lens can be easily exchanged for a setup with two lenses that captures the action in all directions simultaneously and releases a number of creative techniques that are only possible with a 360-degree field of view.
The 1-inch wide-angle module for the Insta360 ONE R is the first result of the shared vision and development of Leica and Insta360 at a time when cameras play a more central role in culture and communication.
