LEGISLATIVE: La France Insoumise invests three candidates in Côte-d’Or

This Tuesday, May 10, the party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon indicated the names of the three rebels who will wear the colors of the NUPES coalition in Côte-d’Or. Updated with the presentation of Antoine Peillon and his alternate Dominique Guidoni-Stoltz.

As part of the agreement of the New Popular, Ecological and Social Union (NUPES), three constituencies of Côte-d’Or have been reserved for La France Insoumise, one for Europe Écologie Les Verts and one for the Communist Party.

Although an important member of the coalition, the Socialist Party did not inherit any constituency in the department, which provoked the rebellion of the Dijon section (read our article). For their part, the Young Insoumis call for dialogue with local socialist leaders (read the press release).

This Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s party indicated the names of 323 candidates throughout France, including those for Côte-d’Or.

Three Investitures

On the first constituencythe Parisian Antoine Peillon was invested to the chagrin of Arnaud Guvenatam, local leader and former Insoumis candidate for municipal elections in Dijon.

Antoine Peillon is a journalist and documentary filmmaker, specialist in the far right, political and financial affairs and tax evasion. He is the brother of former socialist minister Vincent Peillon. During the municipal elections of 2020, Antoine Peillon appeared on the list supported by La France Insoumise in Paris.

On the third constituency, the candidacy of Patricia Marc is confirmed. Living in Marsannay-la-Côte, Patricia Marc has already been a candidate for the legislative elections in 2017 as well as for the departmental and regional elections in 2021.

On the fourth constituency, is invested Stéphane Guinot, mayor of Boussenois, north of Is-sur-Tille. Stéphane Guinot had already been a candidate for the 2017 legislative elections.

In addition, the NUPES supports Catherine Hervieu (EELV) on the second constituency. The name of the communist candidate for the fifth constituency has not yet been revealed.

Press release from Antoine Peillon of May 11, 2022:

PRESENTATIONS OF OUR CANDIDATES

Antoine Peillon:

“As a journalist since 1985 in various national titles, I investigated, among other things, neo-Nazi networks, the far right, terrorism, as well as political and financial affairs. One of my books, These 600 billion which are lacking in France; Investigation at the heart of tax evasion (Le Seuil, 2012), helped trigger judicial and parliamentary inquiries.

Field naturalist from adolescence, community activist for the protection of nature and sustainable development, member of the Socialist Party, until 2004, I exercised, from the beginning of my professional life, numerous union mandates, in particular on behalf of the CGT. I participated with enthusiasm in the work of the Parliament of the People’s Union since its establishment, in December 2021.

Today, seized by the democratic, ecological and social urgency more acute than ever, I am animated by a spirit of radical solidarity with those who suffer in an unbearable way the systematic destruction of all the commons by the policy of Emmanuel Macron and his accomplices, governments, elected officials LREM, LR, RN, profiteers of all kinds…

Also, follower of the invincible hope invoked, in their time, by Jean Jaurès and Léon Blum, carried by the score of the candidate of the Popular Union in the first round of the presidential election (22%), I decided to participate in the election of a leftist and ecologist majority in the National Assembly, so that a government led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon reorients our country in the direction of its perpetual ideal of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

In Dijon, in the first constituency of the Côte-d’Or, where I live, work and campaign, I will have the pleasure of leading the campaign in the legislative elections on 12 and 19 June next, along with Dominique Guidoni-Stoltz and of an important action collective of the People’s Union, already mobilized and determined to achieve victory. »

Dominique Guido-Stoltz

“As a newly retired primary school teacher and teacher-researcher, after forty years of union activism in education and training, I decided to commit myself politically to implement the program of the Future in common.

Revolted against all forms of injustice, I am a fervent supporter of harmony between humans and with nature. I am determined to contribute to bringing democracy to life and not to leave full powers to Emmanuel Macron, the president at the service of the richest whose record is deplorable for the most precarious and for the environment.

With my candidacy alongside Antoine Peillon, I want to respond to the social, ecological and democratic emergency. Insubordinate to the powerful and faithful to the interests of the people, I am convinced that with the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (NUPES), we can all build another world together. It’s possible ! »
