Spector went big with immersive simulation game System Shock. In this style of games, the player can move freely in a realistically designed game world in which he can make choices about how he handles situations.
After System Shock, Spector built several more such games, including the successful cyberpunk series Deus Ex. From 2005 to 2013, he worked for Disney on platform games like Epic Mickey.
Since 2016, Spector has been working for OtherSide Entertainment on a successor to System Shock, but the rights for that project had to be transferred to Chinese gaming giant Tencent due to a lack of funds.
