Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi is pleased to make donations to the education field following children’s hospitals and disaster relief organizations.

According to KAIST (Korea Institute of Science and Technology) on the 1st, Lee Seung-gi promised to donate 300 million won to KAIST with the intention of leading the development of science and technology, which is the future competitiveness of the country. Lee Seung-gi is scheduled to attend the KAIST development fund agreement ceremony held at the KAIST campus on the 3rd.

Lee Seung-gi’s big donation has been going on since the end of last year. Lee Seung-gi, who has always been at the forefront of good deeds, ironically, started with a dispute with his former agency.

Since November of last year, Lee Seung-gi has been in a dispute with his former agency, Hook Entertainment, with which he worked for 18 years, over the issue of settlement of profits. Hook Entertainment said that it had deposited 5 billion won in unpaid settlement money to Lee Seung-gi, but Lee Seung-gi said that it would continue the court battle because Hook Entertainment had deposited the amount unilaterally settled. However, Lee Seung-gi expressed his willingness to donate all the money he received from Hook Entertainment to society.

Accordingly, on December 29 last year, Lee Seung-gi donated 2 billion won to Seoul National University Children’s Hospital to improve the treatment environment, and in 15 days, he donated an additional 550 million won through the Korean Red Cross. In addition to this KAIST donation of 300 million won, Lee Seung-gi is making a total of 2.85 billion won in donations after an unsettling dispute with his former agency.
