Leclerc by far the best in digital version of Vietnamese Grand Prix | NOW

Charles Leclerc won the digital edition of the Grand Prix of Vietnam on Sunday. The Ferrari driver was by far the best in a race in which he was one of the five Formula 1 drivers.

Alexander Albon (Red Bull Racing), Antonio Giovinazzi from Alfa Romeo and the Williams duo George Russell and Nicholas Latifi also participated. McLaren driver Lando Norris was also said to be driving, but his computer crashed.

Behind Leclerc, Formula 2 driver Christian Lundgaard (Renault) finished second. Russell completed the podium. All participants took place in the simulator at home.

Former Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button and former Formula 1 drivers Stoffel Vandoorne, Esteban Gutiérrez, Anthony Davidson and Johnny Herbert were also among the eighteen participants.

The Vietnam Grand Prix was held at the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, as the new track in Hanoi was not yet part of the game used. The Bahraini Grand Prix had already been virtually completed, with the win for Formula 2 driver Guanyu Zhou.

The real Formula 1 season has not yet started due to the corona crisis. The first eight races have been canceled. The next Grand Prix on the calendar is now that of Canada on June 14.

The coronavirus in short

  • The coronavirus mainly spreads from person to person via sneezing and cough drops. The chance of becoming infected through surfaces such as door handles is small. This chance decreases if you wash your hands often.
  • You can considerably reduce the chance of spreading by keeping at least 1.5 meters away from others.
  • The corona measures have resulted in an infected person infecting less than one other person on average. Previously, this so-called reproduction number was between two and three.
  • The vast majority of patients have mild (flu-like) complaints.
  • Almost all deaths involve the elderly or other vulnerable persons, such as heart, lung or diabetes patients. If everyone complies with the measures, this reduces their risks.
