Leaked Photos and Details of Huawei Mate 60: Design, Colors, and Features

We already know that the Huawei Mate 60 is supposed to have a display with a large hole in the style of the iPhone 14 Pro and at the same time a small cut-out, while there is no shortage of functions reminiscent of Apple’s Dynamic Island. Today, however, a previously leaked design is confirmed to us, which really only looks like a slightly modified Mate 40, while we can also look at the interesting colors of the prototype.

A couple of photos of the upcoming Huawei flagship have appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo. Specifically, this is only the already manufactured Mate 60 body, which does not yet contain the necessary hardware, motherboard, display, in short, it is only a shell. In the end, the phone really just looks like the Mate 40 with a larger camera module, where we can understandably find larger sensors than years ago. Therefore also larger dimensions.

Specifically, we can expect three cameras, including a periscopic telephoto lens. In the middle of the module, the manufacturer boasts of the inscription XMAGE, i.e. its own photo division, which replaced Leica years ago. However, the color version of the back is particularly striking, which is mostly white, but changes sharply to silver at the bottom. The question is whether this is the final appearance, or whether it is only a prototype, which usually tries to hide the final colors and shape of the device.

The Mate 60 series may be introduced again in September or October, while there is still talk of a possible 5G variant. After last week, it’s certain that the Nova series phones will get both 4G and 5G versions soon, but we don’t know how it will be with the flagship piece. Will the new 5G processor be powerful enough to be deployed in a premium product? Hopefully we’ll hear more from the leakers soon.
