Leaders of Russia, Germany and France discuss the pandemic | News

The Russian Government reported on the meeting held on Tuesday by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the Federal Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron through a virtual conference.

The press release issued reported that the meeting focused on joining forces in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The prospects of registration in the European Union of the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” were discussed, as well as the possible supplies and joint production of this drug in the community countries.

The president of Russia emphasized the importance of the authorities of Kiev (Ukraine) complying with all the agreements previously reached at the highest level, while the chancellor and the French president called for the negotiations of what is known as Normandy format to implement the Minsk agreements.

The Russian side expressed serious concern about the escalation of the armed confrontation on the line of contact caused by Ukraine and the real refusal to implement the “Additional measures to strengthen the ceasefire regime” agreed in July 2020 in the Contact Group. .

Discussing the situation in Belarus, Vladimir Putin pointed out the inadmissibility of external interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. Russia also stated that the situation in Syria continues to stabilize and that the issues regarding the provision of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people are now very serious.

Angela Merker and Emmanuel Macron valued the humanitarian situation in the country as disastrous and asked that cross-border aid to the population in need continue and that the work of the constitutional committee be intensified.

The two leaders and the German Prime Minister also highlighted the need to advance soon in the implementation of the Vienna Nuclear Agreement with Iran (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).
