They are Tracy Robinson (Jamaica) and Chaloka Beyani (Zambia and United Kingdom). In appointing these experts, Ms. Bachelet considered that “the deterioration of the security situation in Libya and the absence of a functioning judicial system underline the importance of the work of a team of independent experts to document the violations and abuses. human rights ”, according to a statement posted on the UN website. On June 22, the UN Human Rights Council adopted a resolution calling for the sending to Libya of a “fact-finding mission” to document the abuses committed there since 2016.
