Peter Laviolette appointed as the new head coach “Washington”.
The 55-year-old became the 19th coach in Capitals history. Previously reportedthat Lavioletta’s salary will be more than four million dollars a year.
Recall, August 23 “Washington” dismissed Todd Rearden, under whose leadership the team were eliminated from the Stanley Cup twice in the first round.
Laviollet, 55, left Nashville in January. He has worked at the club since 2014. In 2017, the coach led the Predators to the Stanley Cup final, where they lost 2-4 to Pittsburgh in the series.
In the 2017/18 season, the Predators won the Presidential Cup with 53 victories in the regular season NHL.
