The “Latvian Voices a cappella” festival will take place in Valmiera in August


Riga, July 17, LETA. The “Latvian Voices a capella” festival will take place in Valmiera near Dzirnavu lake on August 1 at 9 p.m.

As Zane Johansone, a representative of “Latvian Voices”, informed LETA, the vocal group in cooperation with the city of Valmiera invites to attend the annual “a cappella” music festival.

This year the festival will take place for one day and during that time listeners will be able to attend the “a cappella” music concert of “Latvian Voices” and the special guest of the concert Jānis Strazdiņš, will be able to watch live on the festival ‘s Facebook page.

Due to the spread of Covid-19, the festival program this year will be shortened and scheduled performances by foreign guests, “The Swingles” from the UK, “Quintense” and Daniels Barkes from Germany, will be moved to next year’s festival.

The vocal group “Latvian Voices” is organizing master classes for the fourth year. This year, for the first time, they will be broadcast live on the Internet with the aim of arranging a “cappella” festival not only for the participants of the master classes in person, but also for Latvian and foreign listeners online.

The concert will take place in accordance with the sanitary protocol for the safety of event attendees. The organizers of the event invite the visitors of the event to bring their seat cushion or blanket, as well as to think about comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. The event will last one hour and admission will be free.
