Among the largest solar park projects implemented by “Baltijas Elektro Saibedrija”, we can mention the 3 MW solar park of SIA “Agrofirma Tērvete”, which is currently being put into operation. The company will use the produced electricity for self-consumption, but the surplus will be sold on the common market. Investments – approximately 2 million euros.

As the largest project, the purpose of which is the development of activities in the niche of renewable energy resources and the sale of produced electricity, we can mention the creation of solar parks with a total capacity of 30.3 MW, in which Rietumu Bank has invested 21 million euros. It is currently being commissioned. One of the objects within this extensive project is the solar power plant “Aleksandriņi”, located in Salaspils with a total capacity of 11MW.

As Jeļena Buraja, chairman of the board of Rietumu Banka, notes: “Financing green energy projects is one of our priorities. This industry has high potential and will undoubtedly influence our future. We very positively assess the cooperation with “Baltijas Elektro Sabiedrība” and plan to develop solar park creation projects in the future as well.”

With a total capacity of 1.5 MW, “Spridzenu HES” SIA is developing a solar park in Aiviekste parish, Pļaviņu county. Total investments – 1.2 million euros. The commissioning of the solar park is currently underway. The company will sell the produced electricity on the common market.

Edgars Bergholcs, chairman of the board of “Baltijas Elektro Saibedria”, states that this is only a part of the projects the company participates in developing: “Energy projects have been an attractive sector for investors in foreign countries for many years, but their popularity in Latvia was not equal. Currently, the war in Ukraine has changed this situation, and more and more investors are looking in the direction of renewable energy resources, which would have a high potential for the future. Latvia still has untapped potential in this field. In addition, the quality of the solar panels is important to solar park investors – it is essential for them that they serve well in the long term. This is a difference from the niche of solar panels for private houses, where the buyer often chooses the cheapest offer, saving on quality and after-warranty service.”

Meeting of industry experts at the “POWER ON” exhibition

The development and future potential of the niche of solar panels and solar parks is one of the topics that will be discussed at the exhibition.
