In March this year, 908 new companies were registered, according to the information gathered by “Lursoft”. In total, 2574 new companies were registered in the first three months of this year, while 2009 were liquidated, which means that the actual number of companies in Latvia increased by 565 in the first quarter of 2023. There has been a negative trend for the last seven years – there were fewer new companies than liquidated ones.

The total share capital of new companies registered last month was the second lowest since April 2020. “Lursoft” has researched that the total capital of the companies registered in March is 2.18 million euros. In the last three years, it was even lower only in January of this year (1.87 million euros).
In March this year, 813 limited liability companies, 84 individual traders, 4 branches of foreign traders, 3 farms, 3 general partnerships and one joint stock company were registered. It should be noted that 60% of all limited liability companies registered last month have small capital, more than a third of them have a share capital of 1 euro.
Among the new companies registered last month, the largest share capital is SIA “Links Investments”, founded by SIA “xpate Links”, whose registered and paid-up share capital is 518.80 thousand euros. The information available to “Lursoft” shows that, in addition to SIA “Links Investments”, its shareholder also owns shares of SIA “x22”, a holding registered in May of last year. It, in turn, registered SIA “xpate” working in the financial services sector last summer. The true beneficiary of all the aforementioned companies is Mihails Shafro.
“Lursoft” has investigated that the status of the true beneficiary is currently registered to him in nine companies with limited liability, as well as in one branch of a foreign merchant. Most of these companies were registered relatively recently, so their first annual reports are not yet available.
The second largest share capital among all companies registered in March was SIA “Dynamic Developments DD” from Salaspils. The company’s four shareholders, natural persons, have invested 100 thousand in the share capital of the newly registered company. EUR. Lursoft has investigated that out of all the shareholders of SIA “Dynamic Developments DD”, only Amanda Apsīte has previously owned shares in other companies. The others – Bertrand Denis Daniel P, Lelde Bertrandei and Dzintar Smirnov – had previous connections with other companies.
According to “Lursoft” calculations, 45.15% of all members of companies registered last month already owned shares in one of the companies registered in Latvia.
The information collected by “Lursoft” reveals that the third largest company registered in March is SIA “Valmieras betons”. Its registered capital is 70 thousand euros, and the paid-up capital is 35 thousand euros. The sole shareholder of the company is Judīte Jakovina, who also owns the general practice of doctors in SIA “Kārvins”, SIA “Jurates” working in the real estate sector, as well as the entrepreneur, sworn auditor is one of the partners of JSC “Nexia Audit Advice” and a member of the board. Lursoft information shows that Tatjana Ezerkalne, who is also the manager of the above-mentioned SIA “Kārvins”, has been appointed as the sole member of the board of the newly registered SIA “Valmieras betons”. It should be noted that both SIA “Kārvins” and the newly registered SIA “Valmieras betons” have the same legal address – Voldemāra Baloža iela 11C, Valmiera. The full company “Nigro” is also registered at this address, according to “Lursoft” data.
The only joint stock company registered in March is AS “Electrify H2”. The sole shareholder of the company is SIA “Electrify”, but the real beneficiaries are Kristaps Dambis and Aigars Dancis. In addition to the newly registered joint stock company, SIA “Electrify” also owns SIA “Electrify Rent”, and together with SIA “Universāls LTD” it has established the general partnership “Universals Electrify”. SIA “Electrify” is a manufacturer of electric vehicles, which also provides services in the design, installation and coordination of charging infrastructure with electric vehicles.
For example, in 2021, SIA “Electrify” implemented the order of JSC “Liepājas busu parks” for the production and delivery of 9 new electric minibuses. Lursoft’s data shows that in 2021, the company’s turnover reached 1.64 million euros, and its profit was 0.53 million euros. The company currently has four structural units registered – the website electricbus.lv, a production plant, a sales point and also an office.
“Lursoft” information shows that the legal address of AS “Electrify H2” is registered in Riga, Grostonas Street. 47% of all March companies are registered in the capital. More than 100 new companies were also registered in Pieriga (138) and Vidzeme (110) last month. New companies were registered in all Latvian municipalities last month.
