Last week, the price of the “Nord Pool” system, as well as the average electricity prices in the Baltic countries, fell. There has also been a reduction in prices elsewhere in Europe: in Germany the price of electricity was 403.17 euros per MWh or 18% less than the previous week, in France the price of electricity fell by 25% at an average of 432.13 euros per MWh and in Austria – 23% at 437.03 euros per MWh.

In Latvia, compared to the week before, the average price of electricity fell by 21%, in Lithuania the price of electricity fell by 29% and averaged € 351.06 per MWh, while in Estonia it is decreased by 2% and was € 298.47 per MWh. The capacity limitations of the cross-sections of the electricity transmission system between Estonia and Latvia continue due to repairs. These works are expected to be completed early next year.

Last week the price of the “Nord Pool” system fell by 3% to 307.84 euros per MWh.

The drop in electricity prices last week was facilitated by the 15% increase in the development of wind farms in the “Nord Pool” region, as well as the decrease in energy prices and carbon allowances compared to the week. previous one. The downward trend in electricity prices in the Baltics was also reinforced by a 3% decrease in electricity consumption and a 2% increase in development compared to the previous week’s data.

The annual maintenance season for the Nordic nuclear power plants continues. Last week, the share of available capacity in total installed capacity dropped from 80% to 71%.

Over the past week, electricity consumption in the “Nord Pool” region remained at the previous week’s level – 6654 gigawatt hours (GWh), while production volumes increased to 6828 GWh.

In the Baltic states, total electricity consumption decreased by 3% to 458 GWh. The total amount of electricity consumed in Latvia decreased by 2% and was 115 GWh. In Estonia, electricity consumption was 135 GWh, 4% less than in the previous week. In Lithuania, electricity consumption decreased by 2%, for a total of 208 GWh.
