Latest news: The most critical figures for the economy have been announced. Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced September 2022 inflation data. CPI rose 3.08% on a monthly basis, annual inflation rose from 80.21% to 83.45% . The general market expectation was that inflation figures would exceed 84%.
CPI rose 52.40% compared to December last year and 60% compared to the 12-month average. In August, annual inflation rose to 80.21%.
THE MAXIMUM INCREASE IN TRANSPORT
In September, the main group that showed the smallest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was the communications group with 30.76 percent, while the highest increase compared to the same month of the previous year was that of transport with 117.66 per cent.
According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, Istanbul inflation has increased by 107.42% on an annual basis.
