Last call for Real Sociedad in the Europa League

Real Sociedad receives PSV Eindhoven on Thursday forced to win if it wants to achieve its pass to the next phase of the Europa League, where Betis has already secured the classification in group G.

Betis will pass as the second of their key so they will have to play against one of the teams that fall from the Champions League for their pass to the next phase.

According to the new format of the Europa League, only the first in the group go to the eighth and the second have to play the classification against the eight teams that come from the Champions League, after finishing third in the maximum continental tournament.

The Betic team will visit Celtic from Glasgow, no longer under pressure, while in the other match, the leaders Bayer Leverkusen will face the Hungarian Ferencvaros, who have not yet scored.

More work has to be done by Real Sociedad, which is only worth the victory against PSV Eindhoven to secure second place in group B, in which Monaco has already secured the pass as leader.

The Basque team, third two points behind the Dutch team, which is worth a draw to secure their second place, comes to the match in full negative streak after accumulating three defeats in their last four games.

“There is no better way to turn the situation around than by beating PSV,” Real Sociedad coach Imanol Alguacil said on Saturday after losing 2-0 to Real Madrid in LaLiga.

Like Real Sociedad, Naples also plays its pass on this last date in tight group C, where anything can happen.

Only two points separate Leicester, leader of the key, which visits Naples, from the last, Legia Warsaw, which receives Spartak Moscow. All with possibilities to classify.

In group A, Lyon and Rangers have already secured the pass as first and second respectively, while in group D, Eintracht Frankfurt and Olympiacos are classified, but they have yet to clarify in what order.

All to be decided in Group F, where Serbian Red Star leads the group with one point ahead of Portuguese Braga and two points over Danish Midtjylland.

The Portuguese and Serbs square off for the lead with one eye on the showdown between Midtjylland and the evicted Bulgarian Ludogorets.

A victory for the Danish team could give him the qualification if Braga and Red Star tie.
