The largest model of the 737 MAX group, the MAX 10, from aircraft manufacturer Boeing, started its first test flight today. This is a new major step in the return of the aircraft type, which was subject to a long-term ban on flying after two fatal accidents.
Around 7 p.m. Dutch time the plane took off of an airport in the Seattle area, in the US state of Washington, where Boeing large production facility has.
The MAX 10 model is the first 737 aircraft to make a test flight since US aviation authorities resumed gave permission to go flying with the type. The 737 MAX aircraft have been grounded worldwide since the spring of 2019 after two accidents within a few months.
