A real debate about the 2021 budget did not materialize. SP and Greens / AL wanted to discuss the austerity measures that the center-right had implemented in November against their will and the will of the city council. A battle of retreat remained. The applications with which Links-Grün wanted to reverse individual cuts were all rejected.
GLP, EVP, CVP / EDU, FDP and SVP defended what they had agreed on. The parties did not give in on the items on the agenda on Monday. The tax rate, which is 125 percent in the new budget, instead of 129 percent as in the first one, will not be set until next week.
