Lanvaudan. Work on the future skatepark has started. Sport

The site of the old presbytery, at Lanvaudan (Morbihan) already hosts the media library and the City-stadium where athletes can freely practice several sports such as basketball, football, tennis or running.

A free leisure center accessible to all

Soon, urban sports enthusiasts of all ages will soon discover the skatepark. “On the one hand, it is a question of offering a suitable and secure place to young practitioners and of taking advantage of this space which until then had been left free and even little valued right next to the City-stadium, introduces Jacky Lancelot, First Municipal Assistant. Young and old alike will therefore be able to benefit from equipment dedicated to sport, free of charge and with free access, like the City-stadium, whose success is undeniable ”, continues the elected by showing a group of young people engaged in a game of football while another connects the baskets.

The skatepark will therefore take place on the parking side of the City stadium over approximately 600m². “We planned to build the sliding area while preserving the immediate environment and making sure to leave a sufficiently wide access route”, indicates Sonia Raccapé, elected referent. The structure will have five modules: housing, slide bar, inclined plane, blup and double wave.

A picnic and play area for children

The municipality thus intends to strengthen the cultural and leisure facilities within the perimeter of the former presbytery.

“Moreover, a play area will soon be created for the little ones and the presbytery garden will accommodate street furniture adapted for people with reduced mobility so that users can also take advantage of the space to picnic, have a snack or simply have a rest. . A game of boules should also delight fans, completes the elected representative who underlines the intergenerational interest of the project. It is a question of offering the inhabitants an intergenerational place where each one can benefit from the spaces arranged according to his desires. “ Families with children, adolescents, athletes, elders, everyone can find an activity that suits them. “The site lends itself particularly well with its green spaces, its parking area, its accessibility and finally its immediate proximity to the village and the hiking trails that crisscross it”, concludes the elected.
