Roger Federer: Second planning application for house construction in Rapperswil-Jona.

Even a tennis icon is not immune to such nasty surprises when building a house! In Rapperswil-Jona, construction began on the new property of Roger Federer (38) in November. But work on the new sea management has brought a problem to light.
–
It was discovered that the floor of the property is contaminated with old building rubble. This reports the «Linth newspaper». That is why the Federer family has now submitted a second building application to the Rappi building administration. She wants to clean up the contaminated site.
–
On the 18,000 square meter plot of land on Lake Zurich, the 20 meters along the entire width of the property and the bottom of the lake in the left area are affected.
–
The reason for the soil pollution down to a depth of 90 cm: there used to be a brick factory on the site. Historical pictures show the industrial building on the bank. Federer now wants to have this brickwork waste dismantled and presumably fill it up with normal earth, even if no buildings are planned in this area.
–
No danger to the environment
There is no environmental hazard. The substances in the floor are harmless. But the sharp-edged waste with lots of glass and metal fragments can be annoying for humans and animals. Does Roger think of his children playing?
–
Andri Pfister, responsible for the building permits at the city administration, says to BLICK: «Because it is an intervention in the bank area, a proper procedure must be carried out with a building application. It is within the water distance range. That is a mere formality. »No objections are therefore expected. Pfister: “Of course, such a dismantling is associated with costs. But it is brought closer to nature again and is therefore a good thing. »

The site will be worth up to 50 million
How much more expensive Federer’s new empire in the Kempraten district of Rapperswil will be with the planned soil remediation is still unclear. One thing is clear: the construction of six one- to two-story buildings will cost around CHF 20 million and should be completed in 2021. The entire Federer site is worth CHF 40 to 50 million. The construction is planned by the worldwide South African office “Saota Architecture”.
–
And it is also clear that privacy screens were created around the area before Christmas to keep onlookers from looking at the construction work.
