Bandar Lampung (Lampost.co) – The Lampung Health Office (Dinkes) stated that the determination of extraordinary events (KLB) on the spread of cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) depended on each regional head.

“The one who said the KLB was the regional head,” said Head of the Lampung Health Office, Reihana, when contacted by the Lampung Post, Wednesday, January 26, 2022.

According to him, regional heads through the district health office can compare the rate of increase in dengue cases in the same month in the previous year. If there is a doubling of cases, the regional head can declare a DHF case at the regional level through the Health Office as KLB status.

“The trick is to compare (DHF cases) in the same month the previous year, is there a doubling of the number of cases in the same month this year,” he explained.

According to him, mosquito control can be done using several appropriate methods.

“I suggest that the most effective action in suppressing the dengue fever epidemic is to control the presence and as much as possible avoid the mosquito vector that carries the dengue virus,” he said.

Prevention of dengue fever can be done by implementing the Eradication of Mosquito Nests (PSN) where the community can move by carrying out the 3M Plus Movement, namely Draining, namely by cleaning places that are often used as water reservoirs such as bathtubs, buckets, refrigerator water containers, flower vases, and others. other.
