LaLiga confirms Aubameyang hat-trick

Valencia

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang can smile big after the fourth goal Barcelona declared to be his. Aubameyang made his first hat-trick for Los Cules.

Aubameyang started when Barcelona visited the Mestalla Stadium, Sunday (20/2/2022) night WIB. This is the first time he has played since the early minutes with his new club in LaLiga.

Paired with Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres, Aubameyang played tergginas. He even scored two goals in the first half, in the 23rd and 38th minutes.

Barcelona led 3-0 in the first half because it was punctuated by Frenkie de Jong’s goal in the 32nd minute. In the second half, Valencia had cut the score to 1-3 through Carlos Soler in the 52nd minute before Barcelona increased their advantage to 4-1 in the 63rd minute.

Initially Barcelona’s fourth goal was said to belong to Pedri who fired long distance and beat Giorgi Mamardashvili in goal. However, in the replay, the ball actually touched Aubameyang’s back, causing it to turn.

Well, after going through discussions between the match officials, referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande finally declared the fourth goal belonged to Aubameyang. That means the Gabon striker has officially scored his first hat-trick for Barcelona!

“The latest news! The referee for today’s match #ValenciaBarca has just awarded @Pedri’s goal to @Auba! Hat-trick for our newcomers!!!,” said Barcelona’s official statement.

Thus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened his goalscoring account at Barcelona in style after failing to do so in the first three games. For the record, Aubameyang’s total of three goals is only one goal away from Arsenal’s total goals in 2022.
