Lakshmi notices her participation in Who is the mole? has been good for her music career. In conversation with The Telegraph she admits that she was initially afraid of hate because of the attention in the program.
“The program is good for my career”, says the singer. “I could be seen in my complete idiocy, as an enthusiastic, happy egg. In my music I am often the opposite, which can be quite dark. I am super happy that people have let them know that they also appreciate my music, that’s after all what I do.”
“I had prepared for the reactions: when you come on TV, you get a lot of hatred over you,” says Lakshmi. “I was armored, thought: come on. But I have had so many sweet messages. I did not know what happened to me,” said the singer who is now mainly recognized by teenagers on the street.
Lakshmi says that when she returns to the Netherlands, she had to recover considerably after her elimination from the program. “When I was home I bought three books and sat on a terrace with them, drank wine, smoked and read like a kind of absent-minded old woman and I started writing myself to be able to digest it, it was quite intense. “
