Laïs will never be the way it once was. Via a post on the Facebook page of the folk group, Jorunn Bauweraerts and Nathalie Delcroix announce that Annelies Brosens is leaving the group after 25 years.

The three ladies from Kalmthout broke through in the 90s with their refreshing Dutch-language folk songs such as ‘t Smidje, Dorothea in Rinaldo. At their peak they even performed in South Africa, Canada and China.
But that now seems a thing of the past. After all, Annelies is leaving Laïs, the fans must learn via Facebook.
Dear Laïs Fans. We would like to inform you that Annelies has left Laïs after 25 years ”, Jorunn and Nathalie reported. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the band. “With great enthusiasm the two of us continue to sing about warm shrimps, pottekes and pannekes, nocturnal torments and tragic ballads”, the two remaining band members report.
