Saturday, October 2, in Troeshchina near Kiev, local residents while walking in the forest discovered a poisonous spider.
This was told by Igor Banatsky, who saw the black Erezus, as informs “Telegraph”.
According to him, the spider is one of the most beautiful and poisonous spiders in Ukraine. The bite of this species can cause severe pain and numbness for 3-6 days. It is affectionately called “ladybug spider” or Eresus Niger (lat. Eresus kollari).
The man adds that this species lives in burrows and is the only representative of its tropical relatives that lives so far in the northern latitudes.
Males measure from 8 to 11 mm, females from 9 to 16 mm. The former can be recognized by their bright red belly, decorated with four black spots. Females are predominantly black.
