Myung-Whun Chung, Georges Prêtre, Daniel Harding: these are the great baton stars on the podium of the Filarmonica della Scala – including Beethoven, Respighi and Stravinsky – in the new appointment with “Filarmonica della Scala. Tema”, broadcast on Friday 25 November at 21.45 on Rai 5. The series traces the 40-year history of the orchestra through its concerts, from the founder Claudio Abbado to the principal conductor Riccardo Chailly, passing through the most significant conductors. Alongside the concerts, the special, “La Filarmonica della Scala and Milan – Portrait in 4 movements for city and orchestra” by Andrea Franceschini, with Fedele Confalonieri, Marcello Flores, Angelo Foletto, Stefano Jacini, Silvia Lelli, Giuseppina Manin, Ernesto Schiavi, Giangiacomo Schiavi and the orchestra professors of the Filarmonica della Scala.
