Roberto Galeano, director of two schools in the rural area of ​​San José de los Arroyos, in the department of Caaguazú, who had been appointed to be in charge of the pedagogical supervision of San José and Nueva Londres with his positions as director of said schools, He tried to assume the position in secret, but the two educational communities did not allow him.

The claim of those affected is not that the aforementioned teacher takes over as supervisor, but that if this is made effective, both schools will be left without their headmaster titles. The teacher had submitted his resignation to this new position to put an end to a strong reaction from those affected, which resulted in a series of demonstrations that lasted for 7 days.

The eventual possession of the position was considered by referents of the affected institutions as “a stab in the back” inflicted by the aforementioned teacher and the departmental educational director, Elvio Chávez.

On August 18, after almost 7 days of mobilizations, it was believed that peace was restored in the Cristo Rey de Arazapé and Tte. Luis Alberto Dacak from the Dacak colony, who were literally on the warpath due to the appointment of Roberto Galeano, director of both institutions, as head of the Pedagogical Technical Supervision office that covers San José de los Arroyos and Nueva Londres.

That day, Galeano sent a note to the departmental director of education, Lic. Elvio Chávez Rivas, in which he asked that the appointment in search of peace in said educational communities be annulled.

“I have the honor to address you, in my capacity as Head of the Dispatch of the Supervision of Pedagogical Technical Support, district of San José de los Arroyos and Nueva Londres by resolution No. 478 dated August 6, 2021 and Resolution No. 491 dated August 10, 2021, as well as director and professor at Col. Nac. Tte. Luis Alberto Dacak and Col. Nac. Cristo Rey from the San José de los Arroyos district, in order to submit my resignation to the position of supervisor of Pedagogical Technical Support under your consideration, ”the letter said in its first part.

“The request is due to the need to find a way out that leads to peace in the educational community as a result of the situation that has occurred and after the different moments in which the educational community has been discussed. In that sense, I request that the regulations mentioned in this document be annulled, by which I am appointed as the person in charge of the Educational Supervision Office of the districts of San José de los Arroyos and Nueva Londres, ”the letter added.

The departmental director of Education immediately informed the Ministry of Education and Sciences of that resignation. That peace of which Roberto Galeano spoke two months ago has now been broken again and those affected have already announced that they will continue with the actions to prevent the head of the two schools from being transferred to supervision.

According to referents of the educational communities, they now realize that that resignation was nothing more than a trick by Galeano and Chávez to buy time and then reactivate the appointment and take office. Now Galeano would have once again become the intransigent teacher that he was before and, according to a reliable source, he would have expressed that he “does not mind looking bad with those below if he is good with those above.”
