The song “Detachment” by the Paraguayan band Purahei Soul, enjoys a resounding success. Two weeks after the launch of his video, it remains among the most viewed on the YouTube platform.

Made up of Jennifer Hicks and Miguel Narvaez, the group is preparing the release of their second album, Bloque Guaraní, and as a first preview, ‘Desapego’ exceeded all expectations. 15 days after the premiere of the clip on YouTube, the video produced by Noelia Romero and directed by Guti González (Guten), exceeded 273 thousand views.

The audiovisual stand out for the Paraguayan landscape and cultural richness, also counting on the acting talent of Omar Mareco, Julia Peroni, Vencel Bonapartian, Giuliano Narvaez and Melissa Riquelme.

With deep lyrics that refer to love and the awareness that nothing is eternal, Detachment is one of the most listened to songs on Spotify. It penetrated deep into the hearts of Paraguayans, as it recalls the wise learning about the need and importance of letting go.

His lyrics speak of one of the deepest and wisest ways of loving, since nothing belongs to us or is eternal. Rather, it is the learning that gives us letting go and being able to be thankful despite the distance and the end of a story.

This, added to the fusion of musical styles that characterizes them, because on this occasion they offer Paraguayan folklore with a “6X8 pop” with influences from the popular jahe’o song and urban sounds.

Pedro Martínez on guitar, Paula Rodríguez on bass, Gonzalo Resquín on percussion, beats by Guti González and Marcelo Soler, as well as voices in choirs by Nico Vera and Susan Zaldívar.

The issue comes in difficult times for Paraguay, which, like the rest of the world, continues to suffer as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which does not stop claiming lives and causing pain and sadness to citizens.

In that sense, ‘Detachment’ fits perfectly into the situation, entering the innermost soul of Paraguayans. After the launch of Swing Guaraní, in December 2018, Purahei Soul prepares the launch of Bloque Guaraní, at the end of 2021.
