ELECTRIFIED EDITION – The authoritative award Car of The Year 2022 went to the Kia EV6 which was awarded in Geneva by an international jury made up of 61 journalists from all European countries, including the director of alVolante Guido Costantini. To reach the verdict, the leading names in motoring publishing had the opportunity to test the cars in various test sessions, selecting the Asian crossover as the best of the seven finalist cars. The Car of The Year award has been regularly “staged” since 1964, and which this year distinguished itself from previous editions by the presence of six out of seven cars powered by a fully electric motor.
LOCKED FIGHT – The seven competitors were tested in different conditions, both climatic and environmental. For example, for two weeks in the cold of Finland to test the “resistance” and the mileage efficiency of the batteries even in the most difficult situations. An award ceremony that essentially saw a three-way fight, with the Hyundai group as protagonist. Indeed, the Kia in addition to surpassing the Renault Megane E-Tech for only 14 points, he also faced a “fight at home”, with his “cousin” Hyundai Ioniq 5 in third place only 18 points behind the top. The only car with a heat engine in the lot is the Peugeot 308 which, thanks to its 191 points collected, gets the fourth position.
