Michala Kvapilová and Michaela Kubíčková finished second in the beach volleyball tournament in Düsseldorf. Last year’s national champions managed to eliminate the Olympic winner from Rio Laura Ludwig in the semifinals, who played with Margaret Kozuchová. After a close victory at 22:20 in the first set, Kubíčková and Kvapil’s second set dominated by a difference of five points.

In the final, however, the Czech pair was not enough for Isabel Schneiderová and her Swiss teammate Tanja Hüberli. Kvapilová and Kubíčková lost in the fight for the championship smoothly 16:21, 11:21.
