Kuwait spends 28.5 million dinars a year on waste collection and treatment

Madinat al-Kuwait | While the countries of the world are rushing to get the maximum possible benefit through the waste recycling process, Kuwait would not be interested in this even in light of technological development. The loss of the country is getting bigger and bigger. The disposal or incineration of waste also causes serious problems for the environment and human health.

According to the report of the Environmental Authority, Kuwait spends 28.5 million dinars per year on the collection and treatment of waste. 7,500 tons of waste are collected every day. 50% of the country’s waste is dumped in landfills. The report also states that good sources of income are not being used that could have benefited if implementation had been better. The annual volume of household waste in the country is estimated at 1.4 million tons.
