Kudrin expressed confidence that in the near future the level of hydrocarbon production in Russia will not fall, however, such income from the sale of oil and gas, which the country received over the past 20 years, “will not be”.
The role of oil and gas, the head of the Accounts Chamber noted, has already begun to be reviewed before the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The threat of the spread of infection only prompted the world community to consider the issue more quickly. Russia, Kudrin emphasized, cannot be left on the sidelines.
“The very critical moment has come for a reversal from the oil economy to the economy of knowledge and technology,” the article says.
